DB Global Technology creates new technology hub, digital workplace floor and event venue

DB Global Technology S.R.L. (DBGT), Deutsche Bank's technology centre in Bucharest, has inau-gurated a new research and development hub, a digital workplace floor and a state-of-the-art event venue, according to a company press release.

The announcement states that the new Bucharest Technology Hub is part of Deutsche Bank's strong commitment to the local technology and start-up sector. It supports the international network of Deutsche Bank innovation labs in New York, Silicon Valley, Berlin and London in their efforts to increase innovation within the bank. The technology hub is aligned with the three principal goals of the innovation labs: to help the bank evaluate and adopt emerging technolo-gies, to develop a culture of innovation and contribute to the bank's digital strategy.

Bucharest Technology Hub is developed on a surface of 220 sqm, with a capacity of 16 work stations, 1 open meeting area with multifunctional touch screen and 1 video conference meet-ing room.

DB Global Technology is operational since January 2014, with a current team of over 800 and plans to reach 1,000 by the end of 2017. Located at 6A Dimitrie Pompeiu Boulevard in Pipera, delivers over 12.000 sqm on four floors, 1,100 working points, 26 digital meeting rooms, 1300 sqm of scrum area, 750 sqm of interactive leisure area, 450 sqm of social hubs, 11 coffee points, 20 video conference systems, 3 Town Hall rooms and 5 project rooms with smart boards for design sessions. 2014. It has been the first office in Romania awarded with the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certificate, the highest possible ratings for green buildings by the US Green Building Council (USGBC)

The Digital Workplace Floor is located on the fourth floor of DB Global Technology on a surface of 3220 sqm, offering a capacity of 350 work stations and 3 main areas with specific features: Work Zone, Connect Zone, Piazza.

"By providing a strong base for innovation in the region and helping to develop the local fintech community, the centre is supporting our ambitions to become a tech-nology-led company."

Around 79 per cent of professionals accommodated by the offices are millennials, according to company.

The new Bucharest unit aims to offer both the centre's professionals and local IT and technolo-gy start-ups access to a state-of-the-art research and development environment. It also works closely with the Deutsche Bank innovation labs to apply the best solutions from the global inno-vation eco-systems to address business challenges and opportunities within the bank.

"After just three years since it became operational, DB Global Technology is a core innovation unit within the Deutsche Bank international network. These new spaces are achievements to be proud of, and offer significant opportunities for our local team to develop and grow," said Marian V. Popa, General Manager of DB Global Technology.

Deutsche Bank also reinforces its ambition to become more technology-led with the introduc-tion of a Digital Workplace Floor and DB Connect, a fully equipped state-of-the-art event venue, within its Bucharest technology centre. The new Digital Workplace Floor is designed as a city, and aims to transform the fixed and formal workspace into a place that suits a variety of activi-ties and work preferences. It is a flexible and ultramodern space, where DB Global Technology's professionals can choose the work settings that best suit their current activities, providing full freedom of movement and a wide range of facilities.

DB Connect is a multifunctional venue designed for the interaction of DBGT professionals with the whole IT industry and ultimately with the society in which the company carries out business. DB Connect covers the ground floor of the technology centre's headquarters and has a seating capacity that can be easily adjusted according to the needs. Its fully flexible design and ad-vanced equipment make it ideal for all types of events and activities. DB Connect's main pur-pose is to offer the local start-up and technology sector an additional environment for discus-sions and innovation.
