SAP grows its cloud computing team at Timisoara

SAP announced it launched a new floor within Timisoara-based City Business Center to accommodate 20 IT specialists to work within Cloud Service Center division.

By the end of this year, this team will increase 40 specialists for cloud computing division.

SAP opened the Timisoara Consulting Center in 2012, being among the first software companies to have trusted the potential of engineers specializing in technical faculties in the city. The Cloud Service Center, which started its work at the end of 2016, is dedicated to the development of custom cloud-based solutions for SAP customers across industries. Most of the beneficiaries of these solutions operate in Europe. Timisoara programmers have set footprints on some of the most popular SAP solutions: Cloud 4 Customer, S / 4HANA Cloud, Business by Design, SAP Cloud Platform, and SAP Machine Learning.

The Cloud Service Center is part of SAP Innovative Business Solutions (IBS), a global SAP department of 2,000 cloud, on-premise or hybrid cloud-based professionals, and 38,000 IT researchers and experts. They have so far delivered over 4,000 personalized solutions to 1,500 customers worldwide. SAP IBS specialists transform business concepts into unique software applications, using the latest technology, creating value for customers and giving them competitive advantages.

"Team growth in Nearshore Timisoara is part of the SAP development strategy in Romania for 2018, recruiting being in progress in all three centers. Timisoara specialists, together with those from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, contribute to the success of our customers and therefore we want to provide them with a good environment for professional development," said Cristian Popescu, Managing Director of SAP Romania.

"This expansion is a confirmation of the outstanding results achieved during the six years of existence of the SAP Center in Timisoara. The team is distinguished by the high level of training of the specialists, and our desire is to ensure the continuity of the team, both by retention of current employees, and by attracting new talent, we intend to double our staff this year, recruiting focusing on experienced specialists as well as young graduates interested in software development," said Alexandru Şimon, Development Manager - Cloud Service Center Eastern Europe.
