Noni Jain, Wipro Europe: It is fundamental how you coach the employees and prepare them for the next level of an evolving organization

How do you attract and retain a globally-mobile workforce? What technologies do you need in your arsenal to get the most from the tech-savvy "Generation Y"? To drive innovation and attract and retain top talent, companies are seeking creative, "cool" workplace solutions that offer a variety of amenities and the latest technology.

The Romanian work infrastructure, with all components active, functional and evolving, could operate as what we call "the culture of an organization". An organization's culture is made up of all of the life experiences each employee brings to the organization. Culture is mostly influenced by the organization's founder, executives, and other managerial staff because of their roles in decision making and strategic direction. But every employee has an impact on the culture that is developed at work. Hence, every stakeholder on the market - be they employee, entrepreneur, authority, government decision maker, business angel, corporate manager or business leader - should work together within a coherent and clear layout which leaves place for innovation and local added-value to thrive and compete in equal terms on regional and global market.

CEOs who are keen to develop a competitive edge have to pay attention to rising employee expectations, take them seriously and do something about it. Globalization has intensified competition, and at the same time, employee expectations are rising. Only the best companies are meeting this challenge head on. The war for talent is back on the boardroom agenda, and it matters because services and products are only as good as the people delivering them. To succeed, the modern leadership and top management has to take responsibility for the development of the talent pool in the company - the company's leadership should be the ultimate driver of a strong people management strategy.

Noni Jain, Head of Recruitment of Outsourcing Division, Wipro Europe, offered the example of the company she works in, where the focus is on attrition at the workplace and the retention of talents. "It is important how you listen to people, how you implement a direct feedback system. I came to Romania two years ago and I see that Romanians are willing to engage at their workplace, they are willing to connect. The organizations are also evolving over time so it is also very important how you coach the employees and prepare them for the next level. We innovate how we create the leadership programs," Jain explained. "the Twenty-Second Century is all about adapting to new realities and the future will belong to those who can adapt. ‘Learn, Unlearn and Relearn'," the manager concluded.
